Pressure from the American public defeated a bad Wall Street
bailout bill. This reflected a deep distrust with a vague plan to enlist
taxpayers to finance a bailout of Wall Street speculators.
So what would be better? A number of organizations are pressing for a
economic stimulus that would help the real economy, not the casino economy.
We also want to make sure that Wall Street pays for their own mess --and
that the fees are not added to the debt. See the plan by the Institute for
Policy Studies on a sensible bailout proposal HERE.
Take Action to ensure that any bailout paid by Congress focuses on
rebuilding Main Street --and reins in Wall Street.
Sign a petition that asks Congress to invest in Main St., save homeowners and hold Wall St. accountable HERE.
