How can publishers, librarians, and teachers make working class literature (including poetry) relevant to you?

Honestly, better graphic design.
Assist with making connections to other well-known or better known literature. Making suggestions for reading projects, or having displays or readings in the library, classroom, or on-line chat rooms and the like.
Many people do not make the distinction between poetry that is informed by working class sensibilities and poetry that isn't--including teachers, librarians,and so on. But it is important for everyone to see their experiences reflected in the culture... and especially for those struggling with issues of class such as poverty, health care problems, and lack of leisure time. Anthologies get limited exposure, small publishers can't devote all their resources to the endeavor... My suggestion would be to support readings by poets from the working class, perhaps a national tour like the ""poetry bus"" to actually bring the word to libraries, community colleges, and communities. I certainly would volunteer for a project like this and I think other activist poets would too. Also visual and audio media is an excellent resource. A compilation CD of new poetry with working class favorites could reach many and could be a companion to the readings. Keep up the work.
